Attorney Steven Gacovino Defends Victims of Dangerous Drugs and Medical Devices Across the Country

Attorney scores big victories on behalf of his clients

Steven Gacovino, founding partner of Gacovino, Lake & Associates, has established himself as a leader in handling thousands of personal injury and wrongful death cases throughout the United States.  The soft-spoken litigator makes his living in this complex area of law.  But money isn’t everything to him.

“Family and health are the priorities,” says Gacovino, father of three children.

Gacovino never enters a battle alone. He and his associates are strong in researching and understanding “the plethora of variables and nuances related to the ever-changing pharmaceutical industry” as it relates to the firm’s clients.

Gacovino’s success is also due to his connections to other firms “I can join forces with. We handle cases together and succeed together.”

The Long Island attorney says most people’s conscience would be shocked by the amount of suffering so many of his clients’ experience.

“It’s my job to listen and to try to figure out if this person’s rights have been affected in a negative way.  Each individual’s story is unique.   In a lot of the cases, people are victimized by the same product or drug, but how it has affected each person’s life is unique and important to them.”

And so Gacovino has to take time to listen and to genuinely care—even to discern whether the person has a case.  “Unfortunately, we can’t improve their physical condition, but we can hold someone accountable for causing or contributing to the problem.”

Gacovino’s firm accepts qualified clients from New York and across the country. In fact, anyone can call his office to discuss an injury issue related to the pharmaceutical industry or a medical device.

“When you call us, you get us,” he says. “You will get someone on the phone who can competently discuss your concerns. First we listen. Then we answer questions. If we can’t take a call immediately, we call back as soon we can.”

The firm doesn’t just answer questions. It answers them honestly.

“We may not always give callers the answer they want to hear,” says Gacovino, “but we will always give them an accurate answer based on our vast knowledge of this segment of law.”

“While we cannot make magic happen, we do make every effort to keep our clients informed and comfortable at every step of the way, after they’ve contracted with us.”

Gacovino and his firm are currently researching injuries associated with transvaginal mesh implants; birth defects that may be linked to Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRI’s or anti-depressants); injuries related to Intuit’s da Vinci surgical robot; the diabetes drug, Actos, and its potential relationship to bladder cancer; Pradaxa, a blood thinner linked to increased risk of stroke and internal bleeding; and many more.
