Chrysler Recalls More Than 230,000 SUVs
Chrysler is recalling more than 230,000 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles worldwide due to a faulty fuel pump that could cause engines to stall.
Chrysler said the problem affects 2011 vehicles, and could also prevent the SUVs from starting. They say this problem stems from electronic circuitry, which also helps to control the cars’ airbags and other functions. However, the automaker said those features were not affected.
Chrysler said they do not know of any injuries or deaths so far. They reported the recall after a pattern in repairs.
The automaker will advise customers regarding scheduling of service, which will be free of charge. There are 189,000 affected SUVs in the U.S., 16,000 in Canada, 7,000 in Mexico and 19,000 elsewhere.
GM Recalls 221,558 Vehicles
Yet another vehicle recall has been announced!
General Motors announced they are recalling Cadillac XTS and Chevrolet Impala sedans. The recall involves Cadillac XTS from the 2013-2015 model years and Impalas from the 2014-2015 model years.
GM warns that even after taking your foot off the brake pads, the brakes may stay somewhat engaged, increasing the risk of fire.
This recall affects 205,309 vehicles in the U.S.
GM states that the electronic parking brake arm that applies pressure to the back of the brake pads may not fully retract after use. If the brake pads stay partially engaged with the rotor, excessive brake heat can result in a fire.
The automaker said they know of no accidents or injuries related to this defect.
GM will notify owners affected by this recall for free repairs.
