November 23, 2010 – Beman, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has issued a voluntary recall of a series of the company’s hunting arrows. The Beman Bone Collector Arrows could break, causing the arrows to strike an unintended target. The hunting arrows are a hazard to both the user and bystanders. The arrows, which could break upon launch, could go in any number of uncontrollable directions to wound the user or bystander alike.
The recall affects the following Beman Bone Collector Arrows:
- arrows size 340;
- arrows size 400;
- lot # 107545100;
- lot # 107747900; and
- lot # 107545200.
The recall affects about 11,300 arrows. The affected arrows were manufactured in the United States and sold nationwide from August to September 2010 and cost approximately $70 for a half-dozen. Anyone who purchased the recalled arrows is advised to contact Beman immediately to exchange the recalled arrows for free replacements. So far, Beman has received one incident report concerning the arrows, which did not involve injury.
