December 10, 2010 – Following communications with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Target Corp. is recalling its Circo Children’s Space Camp Combo Packs because of a fire hazard. The problem is in the floors of the tent sets. The floor of the tents has failed a flammability test by federal authorities, meaning the set poses a burn hazard and property damage risk to consumers. No reports of incidents or injuries have so far been received by Target Corp. The recall affects a single model of the Circo Space Combo pack.
The pack contains the following items:
- a children’s tent;
- a children’s sleeping bag;
- a backpack; and
- a headlamp.
The recall affects about 1,500 camp sets. The affected tents are green and dark blue with planets, stars and figures printed on the material. The recalled sets have the UPC number 490911500926 and the DPCI code 091-15-0092. The defective camp sets were manufactured in Bangladesh and sold exclusively at Target stores nationwide and online at target.com between September and October 2010. Consumers are advised to cease use of the tents immediately. The camp sets can be returned to any Target store for a full refund or in-store credit. For more information, consumers should contact Target Corp. directly.
