March 18, 2011 – Burlington, NY – According to a report from Press Republican, a Brooklyn resident was among 3 people who were pinned against a guardrail while inspecting damage to a vehicle at the scene of an I-87 car accident on March 6, 2011. According to police reports, 40-year-old Brooklyn resident Igor Begelman, was northbound on I-87 when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a guardrail. Fairport residents Boris Gelman, 62, and Sonya Gelman, 60, travelling companions of Begelman that were driving behind him, stopped to assist. While they were assessing damages, Kseniya Vasilyev, another driver traveling north on I-87, lost control of the car and hit Begelman’s vehicle, pinning the Gelmans and Begelman against the guardrail. Begelman and the Gelmans sustained severe injuries in the I-87 car accident and were taken to Fletcher Allen Health Care. In the meantime, Begelman’s condition improved but as of the article’s posting, the Gelmans were still listed in critical condition.
