April 15, 2011 – Long Island, NY – In a report from Eyewitness News, a Long Island hit and run accident claimed the life of one bicyclist and seriously injured another. Police continue to search for the driver who struck 2 men riding a single bicycle on Hicksville Road in Bethpage. The tragic accident occurred on at approximately 6 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6. The vehicle was described as a white box truck, which continued to head south on Hicksville Road after the hit and run. Both bicyclists were taken to the hospital, where one victim, who was not identified, suffered internal injuries and was listed in critical condition. The other bicyclist, Stephen Marano, 32, of Bethpage was pronounced dead at the hospital.
