November 9, 2011 – New York, N.Y. – In a report from My Fox New York, a young woman was killed and her teen brother was critically injured after an accident on a New York Highway. The fatal car accident took place on Sunday, October 30, after an unexpected storm came through the city. The woman, 20, and her brother, 19, were heading west in a 2002 Chevy Venture on Cross Bronx Expressway, when they were involved in the accident. The cause of the car crash was due to icy road conditions and gawking at an accident that had previously occurred in the eastbound direction, police said. The siblings parked and exited the vehiclein order to inspect the damage to the other automobile they had just driven by, when a 1999 Toyota Corolla slammed into them. The impact caused the siblings to be thrown over a concrete barrier, where they fell below onto Bruckner Boulevard and Brush Avenue. They were both taken to Jacobi Medical Center. The teen’s condition is critical but the sister died from her injuries.
