Man Picking Up Party Supplies for New Year’s Eve Killed in a Hit and Run in Brooklyn

January 6, 2012 – Brooklyn, N.Y. – According to a report from NBC New York, a man picking up party supplies for New Year’s Eve was killed in a hit and run in Brooklyn.  John Cook, 34, was crossing Rockaway Parkway in Brooklyn’s Brownsville section on Jan. 1, around 1:55 a.m., when he was struck. He was later pronounced dead at an area hospital.  According to a fellow partygoer, Cook had left the New Year’s Eve party to grab cigarettes and beer. He was hit by a blue Nissan Maxima. Police continue to look for the driver of that vehicle.  When you or a loved one has been injured in an accident, it can be traumatic enough without adding to it that the driver has fled the scene of the accident.

To learn what legal options are available, you should contact a Brooklyn personal injury lawyer as soon as possible to discuss your case.
