January 6, 2012 – Brooklyn, N.Y. – According to a report from NBC New York, a man picking up party supplies for New Year’s Eve was killed in a hit and run in Brooklyn. John Cook, 34, was crossing Rockaway Parkway in Brooklyn’s Brownsville section on Jan. 1, around 1:55 a.m., when he was struck. He was later pronounced dead at an area hospital. According to a fellow partygoer, Cook had left the New Year’s Eve party to grab cigarettes and beer. He was hit by a blue Nissan Maxima. Police continue to look for the driver of that vehicle.
