For those of you who stock up on frozen dinners, pay attention. A very popular brand of frozen dinners has voluntarily recalled one of their products and it may even be in your freezer!
The voluntary recall of the Lean Cuisine Culinary Collection of Mushroom Mezzaluna Ravioli was announced after three people reported finding small fragments of glass in the ravioli portion of the entree. No injuries were reported.
Nestle Prepared Foods Company says that the meals were made in early November 2012.

– Production codes of 2311587812 and 2312587812
– “Best before date” of December 2013
The voluntary recall is limited to these two days of production, which were distributed nationwide. No other production dates, sizes or varieties of Lean Cuisine products are affected by this recall. The reason for the recall is that the meal may contain fragments of glass.
Officials say that there still may be some people who have this product in their freezer. If you have this Lean Cuisine ravioli in your freezer, be sure to check the date on the package. The recalled ravioli has “best before date” December 2013 stamped on the side.
The affected products were distributed nationwide. Consumers who may have purchased the recalled items should not eat them and should contact Nestle Consumer Services at (866) 586-9424 or email leancuisine@casupport.com.
In 2011, Nestle recalled some other Lean Cuisine dinners after customers found red plastic in their food. A 2008 recall of Lean Cuisine entrees was linked to chunks of blue plastic in some meals.
When asked about the multiple recalls, Nestle representative Hannah Coan said in an email, “We observe stringent standards in our own facilities and with our vendors who supply ingredients to us. When we become aware of an issue, we investigate thoroughly and act promptly with our consumer’s health and safety as our first priority.”
