October 27, 2011 – Long Island, N.Y. – According to a report from Eyewitness News WABC-TV New York, a hit and run on Saturday afternoon, October 22, seriously injured a woman. At around 4 p.m., an unidentified woman in her 50s was struck and seriously injured while crossing a street at the intersection of Peninsula Boulevard and Fulton Avenue. The victim was transported to Nassau University Medical Center and was listed as being in critical condition with a head injury. The driver of that vehicle fled the scene of the accident. Police believe that a vehicle found a few blocks away was abandoned by that driver, who likely got away on foot. Police are still looking for the driver and have been interviewing witnesses of the hit and run accident.
