September 13, 2011 – Brooklyn, New York – According to a report from IBTimes New York, a professional dancer was fatally injured in a bicycle accident in Brooklyn on Tuesday, Aug. 30. Erica Abbott, 29, was riding her bike in the Williamsburg neighborhood when she was startled by the blast of a car’s horn. She lost her balance over a pile of wood and fell directly into traffic. She was then run over by a Mercedes-Benz, driven by an unidentified 34-year-old woman. That driver stayed at the scene of the fatal bike accident and, according to police, charges are not expected to be filed against her. Police are continuing to investigate the accident, however.
