December 12, 2011 – According to My Fox NY within a couple of hours of each other, 2 pedestrians were struck in Manhattan on Friday, Dec. 2. The first accident was fatal, when an unidentified 22-year-old motorcyclist struck an unidentified 58-year-old man on West 57th and 10th Avenue. He was taken to Roosevelt Hospital and was pronounced dead. The driver of the motorcycle sustained head injuries but is expected to recover. About an hour or so later,another pedestrian was hit by a van at 8th Avenue and West 44th Street. The unidentified 23-year-old was listed in serious condition. The driver of the van, however, fled the scene of the accident. A pedestrian accident can lead to serious or fatal injuries.
